They have a tiny bit of slop in the focus adjustment but optically theyre really good in fact not far behind my Monarch 5s which are double the price now.

Having used Swift Audubon 8.5 x 44 for 30 odd years we thought it bast to replace them. These are everything you would expect from Nikon quality is superb. Light bright and waterproof so they are much better for our mountain wanderings. In comparison to the Swifts marginally narrower field of view but them Swift were the only company to manufacture the 8.5 x 44 and the Nikons are just as good but with a load of advantages. A really nice pair of binoculars for bird watching and general use.
