I often have problems with the fit of boots because my feet are wide at the toes, narrow at the heals, and my left foot is somewhat larger than my right. My right foot usually has a pronounced heal lift which often results in blistering of the heal. I am pleased to report that these boots hold my heals firmly in the heal cups without any heal lifting at all, on both feet. There is ample room in the toe box for my toes to wiggle and enough room between the tips of my toes and the inside surface of the toe box to avoid problems with 'hammer toe'. Firm, yet comfortable, lacing across the front of the ankle joint, prevents any sliding of the foot toward the front of the boots. The very comfortable insoles give excellent support, and combined with the firm-ish, outer mid-sole, hold the feet and legs in a good position and alignment. The Vibram outer soles have very good traction and the tread is of generous depth. Good boots for carrying a heavy load. Many thanks to all concerned.
