I spent a lot of time searching for a boot rugged enough but light enough to handle some serious walking on a six week trip to high Andalucian mountains. It's the only boot I've found comfortable enough to handle 40 degrees of Spanish sunshine but supportive at the same time. Good on jagged limstone rocks, nice rubber toe, grippy and excellent ankle support. Mine are 'breathing' now- I've just returned, while I get out my clompy British climate 'mud boots'. The Aigler Brachet GTX boots are definitely the kit for high hot-weather adventures. They're so good, I'm about to send off for a reserve pair before they become as extinct as the eagles I've been tracking on the Andalucian skyline.
