Shimano 2 Piece Trout Native Rod - 7ft 6in. Tip action and progressive blank curve are two key factors for a specialist trout fishing lure rod, so we decided to re-visit the Shimano SPECIAL PROGRESSIVE blanks of the successful Antares rod series and adapt them to the modern trout lure fishing techniques. The blanks are built with the light and sensitive Nano + HPC100 carbon and have moderate-fast and fast action tapers. The metallized forest green blanks are equipped with elegant gunsmoke componentry: anti tangle Fuji Alconite K and KR series combined with the ergonomic new Seaguide XVS reel seat, nestled in a traditional full cork handle with specific lengths for an optimal balance and casting agility. The range includes 9 different models with 5 different lengths and unique features.
7ft 6in 3-12g
With a 228cm length, moderate-fast action and light power, this model is capable of handling lures up to 12g. Developed to fish with hardbaits in medium sized streams, rivers or lakes. The additional length helps to control light lures at longer distances when compared to a shorter rod. The special progressive moderate-fast taper guarantees excellent control of the fish, even with a barbless single hook.
7ft 6in 7-21g
This 228cm rod is specifically developed to fish on a wide range of venues with the more modern trout lure fishing techniques. The fast action taper is perfect for twitching jerkbait minnows, metal-vib lures and softbaits up to 21g. The strong progressive action has plenty of backbone to control larger trout in stronger currents.
HPC High Pressure Carbon
Shimano High Pressure Carbon is a process which creates stronger, more responsive blanks. Pressure is applied to the blank surface during curing (heating) which evenly distributes the resin through the carbon fibre matrix. The result is a much stronger, more consistent performance and improved responsive.
XT Carbon
XT Carbon is used throughout the Shimano rod range. The number following the XT (XT100), denotes the quality of carbon fibre used. The higher the number, the stronger the carbon. Where different types of carbon are combined to create the required action both numbers will be shown (XT60/40).
