Shimano Baitrunner X-Aero 10000 RA Reel

Shimano Baitrunner X-Aero 10000 RA Reel. The new Baitrunner X Aero combines the benefits and convenience of a traditional Baitrunner reel with the casting performance rivalling that of a compact Big Pit reel. This outstanding casting performance is achieved by the use of an oversized Aero Concept spool which is noticeably larger in diameter than a normal sized spool. The Baitrunner X Aero also uses Aero Wrap II (Shimano's top line lay system) and 2-speed oscillation for almost perfect spool line management. Another advantage of the large diameter spool is that one turn of the handle retrieves nearly 1 metre of line making retrieving from distance faster. To satisfy modern anglers thinking both the 8000 and 10000 sized reels now have a single handle which generates more winding power than the double handle which is still fitted to the smaller 6000 model. The hybrid body of the Baitrunner X Aero has a black satin finish and the line clip on the XGT-7 rotor is line friendly to prevent line damage. For more than 20 years the Shimano Baitrunner reel has been the most popular specimen reel available, trusted by millions of anglers throughout Europe. Now, with the addition of the Aero Concept spool, a single handle in the larger sizes and a satin black finish, it is set to continue to be the anglers favourite for many years.

ARC Spool
Shimano AR-C Spool is a patented spool design with an angled spool lip. This design enables the line to leave the spool with less friction and in smaller coils resulting in longer more accurate casts. AR-C spools are proven to reduce backlash and wind knots when using braid.

Baitrunner System
Baitrunner was a breakthrough in big fish angling  a feature that has proved so beneficial that it has become a standard on big fish reels. Baitrunner is a lever located on the rear of the reel that allows the reel to be set so that line is released in controlled freespool.

Hybrid Body
Hybrid bodies are produced from a combination of aluminium and XT7. This combination retains maximum strength exactly where required.

Easy Maintenance
Easy Maintenance is a small oil lubrication port that enables direct lubrication of the inner workings of a reel with approved Shimano lubricant. Some highend Shimano reels have a line roller lubrication option.

Floating Shaft II
The key friction area on most fixed spool reels is where the spool drive shaft meets the pinion. Shimano designers have overcome this by reducing a large percentage of surface area contact and incorporating bearings on either side of the shaft. The resultant design leaves the shaft in a ‘floating’ position, considerably improving efficiency and longevity.

DynaBalance
Dyna-Balance reduces wobble during the retrieve by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness. By using computer balancing Shimano are able to redistribute the rotor weight to create eliminate vibrations.

Power Roller
The special grooved design of the Shimano Power Roller significantly reduces line twist and is a big advantage when using thin mono and braid.

Aero Wrap II
Aero Wrap and the advanced Aero Wrap II is a worm gear oscillation system with a specially designed pitch to create optimal oscillation speeds. This provides superb uniform line lay to reduce loss of energy during the cast. Aero Wrap II is considered one of the best line lay systems in the world.

S-ARB
Shimano S ARB bearings are high corrosion resistant ARB ball bearings with an extra shield for improved protection against sand, salt or dust. 

Cold Forged Aluminium
Cold Forged aluminium is used for some ‘round’ reels, fly reels and is also used for many types of spool. Made from one single piece of aluminium Cold Forging produces great strength.

Super Stopper II
Super Stopper II eliminates backward movement and free play in the handle when the reel is set in antireverse.
