MTC Optics Mamba Lite 3-12x42 IR Rifle Scope. The original MambaLite was developed by MTC optics in cooperation with Optisan and was made until 2014. The MambaLite soon became a jewel in the range and was to become especially popular with airgun shooters, though firearm shooter worldwide soon came to appreciate its light weight and bright optics. The new MambaLite is a completely new MTC design and no longer produced by Optisan, it builds on the original concept and adds the latest night-sight friendly lenses, SCB2 reticle and the feature most commented on as missing from the original scope; a brightness adjustable illuminated reticle.

Without using the reticle illumination it disappears into the rafters of farm sheds. Illuminates the 'box' that surrounds the crosshair, not just the crosshair itself. This clutters the target picture and can makes certain real life hunting situation a faff. Reticle is overly fine and it just doesnt lend itself to a fast crosshair/target acquisition. When making a side by side comparison with a Hawke 4x32 duplex crosshair, and found the Hawke vastly easier to use inside farm buildings.

Bought this for my CZ455 22LR to replace a 624x56 scope that was too heavy and too much magnification I live and learn. So far this MTC Mamba Lite 312x42 is working well clear optics and easy to find your prey not as bright as bigger more expensive scopes but thats what you would expect. No problem with seeing targets at 100 yards with 10x magnification. I liked it so much that I bought another one for my Gammo GX40 .22 FAC. Also I like the way the flipup covers work.

The second one Ive bought from Uttings.They are just excellent scopes for hunting and (I imagine) HFT. At this price point I dont see any others with the same all round attributes.

Bought the MTC Mamba Lite 312 x 42 for my BSA R10se Air rifle. It has the look and feel of high end precision engineering. fantastic sharp bright optics. The illuminated reticle is a great addition too in low light or fussy backgrounds. Also nice to have the flip up covers the rear one with a 2x magnifying glass to help my 50yr old eyes! At £230.00 this is an ideal scope for a sub 12ftlb PCP airgun nut who values a quality scope holding zero. Spending over £400 just to shoot 25 50yrds is a waste of money dont do it! . Im really pleased with the MTC.... PS the photo is 10 shots at 25yrds JSB exact 4.51mm
