I have used the original version of this night vision monocular since 2009 I felt that it was time to upgrade. The new features are a dream to use.The initial setup is achieved through a very intuitive menu system that appears on the monoculars heads up display. Also on the HUD is displayed all the information relevant to the monoculars operation such as: battery level IR strength level zoom level time video/photo mode brightness level. The zoom is of a simple two stage variety the standard 6.5 13x. Simple but thats where I think it works the best.Long pressing the zoom is how the menu system is accessed. Once done the record button ir button is how you navigate the menu. When they say that the image quality has been improved they really mean it. In a gen 1 device the image is so crisp clear.Just like the original this model has two IR illuminators: a low power covert one a main high power one.I was on duty the evening after it arrived as a test I positioned myself 100 metres from a boat house that ...
