I`ve owned a vortex 20 for a couple of years and it appears to be a very well put together and reliable reel. I`ve boated plenty of fish using this reel, including rays and Huss into double figures ( caught on small baits intended for smaller species.) I`ve just bought the 30 class reel and it seems to be built to te same good quality. A good reel for a bargain price.

The early Snowbee Deep Blue Multipliers were a quality product and very well made but the build quality of the Vortex range is disappointing. The spool bearing locations are in the lightweight end covers which appear to be plastic or similar material. The half moon cover plate is not a snug fit and will allow water ingress if the reel is washed down after use. In my opinion, definitely not worth the RRP or even the heavily discounted price.
