Reticle Illuminated Half Mil Dot |
Hunting small game with airguns or .22 rifles is becoming an increasingly popular and challenging sport. Usually the game or target is small and the distances can vary from shot to shot. Normally a riflescope is focus and parallax free at 100 yards. However when the game or target is at closer ranges then focusing and parallax correction is necessary to avoid inaccuracy.
The AO IR series feature a very strong 3/8-inch dovetail mount ring. Additionally we have added a recoil stop screw that allows the mount to be secured to powerful airguns without fear of shifting under the sharp recoil of the spring release.
The Mountmaster AO IR series features finger adjustable windage and elevation bezels and an attractive matte finish. The reticle supplied is the popular Illuminated Mil Dot which allows convenient holdover markers allowing quick shooting over varying distances!

This is exactly as described. It has the feel of an item that is well made and going to last. The focusing is smooth and the graticule very sharp. I have yet to use it on the rifle but first impressions are very good.

I noticed this air rifle scope on youtube. There are some good remarks about the Nikko Stirling Mountmaster 39 x 40 AO IR. Thats what made me buy one of these. It is a good quality scope with a lot of clout for its price. Am very impressed with mine.

Really impressed with this scope. The IR has proved handy shooting vermin in bad light. Very good value for money

I have not used any type of rifle scope prior to this one so have nothing to compare to but in my uneducated opinion it is excellent. My one reservation would be that the supplied mounts were not tall enough needed another .5mm clearance for my rifle.
Review by Dave Strange
Very good scope, excellent value and good robust build quality. Once zeroed I was able to shoot groups I have only previously dreamed about, and all this with a Break Barrel rifle. Over the moon.

Had an issue with this scope but Uttings replaced no fuss. Good entry level scope, well worth the price.

I got this scope very quickly and it well packaged I had been using a Bushnell 3-9x40 no my tuned smk th78 it was OK but after fitting the Nikko Stirling what a difference it focuses so much better at x9 and the reticular dose not fade out in bright light and I got it zeroed in only 5 shoots and it stayed zeroed I will be getting another for my Remington cannot recommend this scope enough.

Very good scope and very good price. Just so you know this comes with mounts and it is not 13.3 inches it is 12.5 inches. The illuminated reticle feature is very good it does green and red with 5 brightness settings for each of those colours. Unlike some scopes the whole reticle illuminates also a spare battery is included. The adjustable objective is great I used have a smk 4x40 scope and I found it so annoying when the crosshair was distorted, it can also be used for rang finding. The turrets are easily adjustable and have a nob so you can use your fingers instead of a coin. I prefer the mil dot to the 30/30 crosshair especially at longer ranges, it also makes zeroing a little easier. Obviously the adjustable zoom is useful and has improved my accuracy a lot. Overall a great product.
