Daiwa build quality is excellent.Im finding the 136 Sandstorm to be a bit on the stiff side when targeting Dabs and Whiting and am now looking to buy a second beachcaster with a slightly softer tip for those smaller fish bite indications to work alongside the Sandstorm. I will buy another Daiwa possibly a Saltist. The 136 Sandstorm is a multiplier model but also works equally as well with my Shimano Beastmaster 10000 FS reel as well as my Penn 535 Mag Multiplier. I am able to cast a 5oz lead plus bait out a fair distance using either reel. The Sandstorm will without doubt handle bigger species with ease and is a joy to use with a quality feel to it. I like the soft feel to the wrap on the butt end which stops the rod slipping in your squiddy fishy hands when youve just baited up. I also like the sliding adjustable reel seat because it enables use of a multiplier or a fixed spool reel it grips tight to the rod with no movement issues under load.
