Rovex 4 Piece John Wilson Monster Tamer Rod - 10ft 6in - 5lb. John’s idea for the new series of rods was to create a rod that can be used for big fish situations across the globe, so strength and balance were top of the list when designing the new blanks. John’s main design brief was to be able to play very large fish with confidence over long drawn out periods and to do it comfortably. John had a great idea to allow for maximum strength and this was to produce a rod with a longer tip and shorter butt section.
The longer tip that features on the 2 piece blank gives anglers more confidence in putting extreme pressure on fish as the tip has no joints throughout to cause any weak areas when playing such large fish, the only joint is the connection to the butt section which has been strengthened suitably to cope with extremes of big fish angling. To complement the range we have also made the same rod into a 4pc travel version that features equal length sections and comes supplied in a protective hard tube for travel situations where long rods can be a hindrance to carry.
