Bought to use with Garmin Foretrex 701. The Kilo 3000BDX has all the right specifications as Id bought it for ELR shooting up to 2 miles but the size of the circle in the optics for Laser designator probably has by my calculations something a diameter covering 4m at one mile and 8m at two miles. So youd need to mount it on a tripod for ranges much above 800m and centre the circle.It could do with options for designator indications of a dot or varying size circles. If it has that option Ive not discovered it despite having RTFM ;)

An outstanding rangefinder. The ballistics software is spot on with my 22250 and 260 Remington out to 800 yards but if you wish to shoot at longer distances you will need to pair the sig 2400 bdx to a kestrel 5700 or 5700 elite to achieve a ballistic solution on screen. This is the reason I purchased the 2400 bdx over the 2400 abs as I didnt see the point in having a stand alone unit such as the abs when I need a wind reading at all ranges Im shooting at. Even thou the abs comes with a wind meter you plug into your phone I would never feel confident whipping my phone out in harsh weather conditions exposing it to the elements. With the kestrel I dont have this worry and am completely confident with my kit. Just my 50 pence worth guys.
