Brilliant in every way apart from fogging up internally when used in cold weather , and having to send them directly to opticron , who mentioned we test them to see if they have been mistreated @#!$ ? Really cheesed me off , i have a lot of fast pro lenses kept in the same place , treated the same , not a problem Opticron uk hmmm not impressed

I use these for tracking of wildlife as a volunteer in a Nature Conservation charity following motorsports as a spectator and general home/holiday stuff. I already had experience of an older pair of the Countryman before buying these. This includes ID of individual animals from some distance hence fine detail and steady focussing is required or following a fast moving vehicle around a track. The build quality is excellent strong robust and solidly built. I have dropped them from chest height to a concrete floor (still in their case) with no more damage than a scuff to the case. These binoculars offer stunning optical quality for the price. They are as sharp (but not as bright) as my Swarovskis. Colour rendition is accurate with no noticeable cast. They handle beautifully and have precise focussing. The field of view is good at 60 degrees but I found the 17mm of eye relief was not sufficient for my glasses. The 8x42s have a narrower field of view but better eye relief and are noticeabley brighter.
