Bisley New Leather Gaiters. To keep ankles and lower legs dry and comfortable without having to wear welly boots, gaiters are the answer. These brown leather gaiters are waterproof, featuring velcro and popper stud fastening with lace hook at the bottom and drawstring at the top. The rubber strap for under the sole of your footwear is thick, strong and durable with grip pattern to help hold the gaiters in place.

I've now used them with a pair of lower Aigle boots, much better, still small, but they do fit.

These gaiters are very narrow round the ankle, useless with boots which give ankle support. I've got a pair of chameau high lace up boots, size 45 and the gaiter is a full 40mm too narrow, no chance of getting the poppers to meet, or the Velcro.
