Baptism of fire in east Highland, gale force wind and sleet for 6 hours. Does need a bit of extra base layer when stood in the open in those conditions but good functional coat, hand warmer pockets great, hood big enough to go over a cap. Seams took a while to dry out but this is going to be my cold weather coat. Silent so no problems when stalking. My 30 year old Swanni, which isn't so windproof but will be used in warmer weather. Good NZ coat - go on, treat yourself!

Rather generously cut but nevertheless very comfortable with bags of room for extra layers. If I'd known I would have ordered mine at least a size smaller, possibly two. I don't find it desperately breathable; after a long walk on a cold day moisture condenses on the inside face. Ideally suited for stationary tasks, High Seat, Hide etc with a very well designed hood whose drawcord encapsulates the head keeping you super toasty.

Only just bought but seems okay so far went out in rain on weekend and stayed dry although as other people have commented it does absorb water so needs a while to dry out but nothing came through.

Like the long length as I am tall 6ft 4ins. Good hood decent pockets value for money. Bought it for sitting in garden in the evening rather than in the field. It is not a good wind blocker slightly better than an average fleece. Have not been in any rain yet. I have a 3xl which is a good fit for me would normally buy a 50in chest or xxl in a uk garment. N.Z. sizes seem small to me .I have a ridgeline pintail that is 4xl and a good fit.

Brilliant fantastic wonderful. This is my second Ridgeline garment ( First one still going strong and also a brilliant coat ) the first of which is a buffalo camo coat. This Grizzly euro jacket is exactly what I expected and ideal for the late night dog walks across the local countryside. Its well made and thought out. I especially like the adjustable hood that protrudes out over your face to protect you from sideward rain. A quality product. Ridgeline products are proving a hit with many of the people I know who share the common country pursuits I partake in. Try one you wont be disappointed.

I have had one of these coats for well over a year and its my coat of choice when its cold, windy and chucking it down. Well worth the full price, even I'm tempted to buy another at half price.

I have just unwrapped my Grizzly jacket and first impressions are very positive,its very well made has great pockets and zips. To echo other reviews on here these jackets are a generous fit, i am 5'8" and 44" chest ,I have a medium and it fits great , I can't imagine needing much underneath but before taking the labels off I tried a base layer,shirt and thick jumper and everything zips up fine.

Only just got my ridge line grizzly coat and not tried it out yet but on inspection seem a good stalking jacket soft and quite. But just a word of warning on sizes all my jackets I have bought recently have been large so that's what I ordered when it came it would have fit a grizzly so I sent it back and ordered a medium and that was a good fit with a ought room in it to spare. Iam a 43 inch chest size. Just may save anybody returning and paying extra postage

I bought this jacket one year ago, thus it has been properly tested. Some of the other items from Ridgeline have had problems with breathability, not this item, it is simply superb. Warm as toast and tough as hell. Keeps the rain out and is just my go to winter item every time I head for the country. Magnificent.

Got the grizzly jacket and wow! It's amazing ! It's so warm and with plenty of room for a jumper underneath if need be ? Definitely will be using this for the winter out hunting !! There's also plenty of room , and plenty of pockets, love this jacket and its definitely waterproof, as I found out in some heavy rain ? It's just so great !

The advertising claims about being enveloped by a bear are so accurate you are immediately aware of it's softness and warmth. It performs too and I have been comfortable wearing it in some of our cold windy Argyll weather without the need for loads of extra layers beneath it. Docked a point in my assessment because it is not claimed to be waterproof as the seams are not taped in spite of which it has never been soaked through although I have worn it in some heavy rain..
