Now I've got two pairs of these grips, the previous review still applies. However, it's worth mentioning that with both sets of grips, the Beretta medallions have pinged of when the grip was lifted of to re-charge the CO2. I was lucky to find and re-glue them, because the aestetic appearance of the grips would have suffered without them. Lesson learned: take them off and glue them on hard.

Purchased new, a stainless steel limited edition version of the 92FS came with only one drawback; my wife told me it felt "plasticky". The pistol was heavier than two pound cannon ball, so it wasn't insubstantial. The problem was in how it "felt", and its appearance. The matt black plastic grips were functional, but not substantial. The walnut replacement grips have proved to be more than a cosmetic improvement. In section, the wood is fractionally thicker than the plastic version. The chequering is also sharper so, overall, the wooden grips are more hand-filling and offer better adhesion to the palm. Easily installed, the grips actually made the weapon more tactile. And prettier.
