A good little lamp kit if you are looking to be free of the usual wires and heavy battery packs. I was very impressed with the overall weight of the system and the lack of 'clutter'. This system is perfect for the amount of lamping I do- 1-2 hours of lamping once or twice a week. If you are looking for 250m%2B beams for all night lamping then look elsewhere. The battery pack appears to be made up for 5 AA rechargeable batteries which are sealed in a neat rubber pouch- initially this made me doubt the power the lamp could throw out but so far I've not been disappointed. One word of caution- do not be tempted to buy the red snap on filer for this lamp, which effectively turns your 100m beam into a 30/35m one. The plastic filter is very thick and very dark and seems to stop a great deal of light coming through. I know this is the point of filters, but Deben seem to have been a little overzealous with this one. Be aware, only supplied with 25mm mount. The 35mm mount is an extra £8 p&p.
