They fit over bike gloves, fleece and can be used during padddling i prefer them to waterproof bike mitts, these always make my hands cold or dead. the mitts also are handy in the kayak instead of pogies. your hands are free and still protected they last about two seasons, you can tug them in any pocket score 9 points out of 10: the closing could be a bit better. very good value for your money, in combination with warm fleece gloves i never found anything better
