Despite their light weight and thin profile these pegs do a remarkably good job of holding a tent down on medium to firm soil which is not too stony. They exhibit high friction against the ground and do not tend to tilt sideways. Being strong and narrow they are usually easy to push in to the ground and can work around small stones easily. Having a good stock of these pegs means you can use two or more at each anchoring point if required. Whatever anyone says they are easy to lose!
