HIK Vision Authorized Dealer

HIKMICRO Thunder 3.0 TQ35CL (640x512) Thermal Front Clip-On w/LRF. The HIKMICRO Thunder 3.0 seamlessly upgrades traditional optics with a high-sensitivity thermal detector, 1920×1080 OLED, Shutterless Image System, and Image Pro 3.0. With an optional integrated laser range finder, ultra-precise zeroing, and up to six hours of battery life for superior field performance.

The HIKMICRO Thunder 3.0 front clip on enables you to hunt with the latest generation thermal technology while also retaining the experience of shooting with your traditional optical riflescope.

The Thunder 3.0 introduces many innovations to enhance your hunting including shutterless technology and 1000m Laser Range Finder (LRF) located discreetly inside the front objective lens which allows you to accurately judge the distance to your target.

Built around HIKMICRO’s latest generation 640x512px, Sub 15mK NETD sensors, the Thunder 3.0 is capable of delivering an unbelievably detailed image. Not only does this help you to positively identify animals but also gives you a clear view of the surroundings and background. This highly accurate thermal sensor will also continue to deliver in the most challenging conditions, such as rain and fog.

The Thunder 3.0 utilises a compact and ergonomic chassis which has been developed to ensure that all of the controls fall easily to reach from your shooting position. The thunder is paired to a Rusan Quick-Release clamp system which is tailored to fit your existing optic perfectly. This system allows you to quickly and repeatably add or remove the thermal unit from your optical scope with the twist of a locking ring.

In addition to the latest hardware, HIKMICRO are committed to developing advanced software to enhance your hunting experience. The Thunder 3.0 is loaded with the latest technology like Image Pro 3.0 which uses intelligent algorithms to build extra detail to the image.

Another unique technology which is set to revolutionise your thermal shooting experience is shutterless technology. The shutter is used in traditional thermal devices to control image noise. It is a physical process which requires your image to freeze for a few seconds to complete. During that interruption it is impossible to take your shot. To avoid this problem, HIKMICRO have developed software which has replaced the physical shutter and removed this problem.

Powered by the same removable battery as the Thunder 2.0, the Thunder 3.0 delivers an impressive run time of 6 Hours.

HIKMICRO Thunder 3.0 TQ35CL (640x512) Thermal Front Clip-On w/LRF FAQs

How does the Thunder 3.0 TQ35CL perform in poor weather conditions?

The sub-15mK NETD thermal sensor is designed to maintain image clarity in rain, fog, and high humidity. This sensitivity allows it to distinguish subtle temperature differences when conditions would challenge standard thermal devices. As a result, target identification remains reliable in adverse environments.

What magnification works best with the Thunder 3.0 clip-on?

The device operates at a native 1× magnification and is recommended for use with daytime scopes set between 1× and 15×. Staying within this range helps preserve image quality and field of view. Higher magnification may reduce overall clarity due to digital enlargement.

Does the Thunder 3.0 interrupt the image during calibration?

No, it uses HIKMICRO’s Shutterless Image System, which replaces the traditional physical shutter. This software-based approach prevents the momentary image freeze common in conventional thermal units. It allows continuous observation and uninterrupted shot opportunities.

How accurate is the integrated laser rangefinder?

The built-in laser rangefinder measures distances up to 1000 m with an accuracy of ±1 m. Operating at a wavelength of 905 nm and classified as Class 1 safe, it provides dependable ranging for ethical shot placement. The module is discreetly housed within the objective lens.

Is the Thunder 3.0 suitable for high-recoil rifles?

Yes, it is rated to withstand recoil up to 1000g/0.4 ms. This makes it compatible with a wide range of hunting calibres. The robust internal construction ensures consistent performance even after repeated firing.

What battery life can be expected in the field?

The removable and rechargeable Li-ion battery delivers up to six hours of operation at 25°C with hotspot tracking disabled. Users can also power the device via an external USB-C power source. This flexibility supports extended hunting sessions.

Does the Thunder 3.0 record video and audio?

Yes, it features onboard video recording with audio capture and recoil-activated recording. Media is stored internally on 64 GB of built-in memory. This allows users to review or share footage without additional accessories.

How wide is the field of view with the 35mm lens?

The field of view measures 12.5° × 8.0°, equating to approximately 21.9 m × 14.0 m at 100 m. This provides a good balance between situational awareness and target detail. It is well suited to scanning and identification tasks.

Can multiple zeroing profiles be saved?

The system supports up to five zeroing profiles. This is useful for shooters who use the clip-on across multiple rifles or calibres. Profiles can be switched without re-zeroing each time.

Is the Thunder 3.0 fully weatherproof?

With an IP67 protection rating, the unit is sealed against dust and can withstand immersion in water to a specified depth. Combined with its magnesium alloy body, this makes it dependable in harsh outdoor conditions. It is designed for consistent use in demanding hunting environments.
