HIKMICRO STELLAR SQ50L 3.0 Thermal Scope is equipped with a 640 × 512 @12 μm thermal detector, with much higher sensitivity (NETD<15 mK) and the latest image processing algorithm (Image Pro 2.0) and shutterless system (HSIS), ensuring users catch the finest details no matter the weather or light conditions without interruption. With a 2560 × 2560 1.03" OLED larger display, SQ50L 3.0 makes it easier to spot targets quickly and accurately. The built-in lens 1000 m LRF and ballistic calculation contribute to more accurate shooting. The scope is mainly used for field and forest hunting.
The HIKMICRO Stellar 3.0 utilises industry leading sensor technology and innovative software to create the ultimate thermal riflescope. The Stellar 3.0 introduces many innovations to enhance your hunting experience including shutterless technology and the integrated Laser Rage Finder (LRF) which allows you to access HIKMICRO's advanced ballistic calculator while retaining the traditional appearance of your scope.
The Stellar 3.0 introduces many innovations to enhance your hunting experience including shutterless technology and the integrated Laser Rage Finder (LRF) which allows you to access HIKMICRO's advanced ballistic calculator while retaining the traditional appearance of your scope.
Built around HIKMICRO's latest generation 640x512px, Sub 15mK NETD sensors, the Stellar 3.0 is capable of delivering an unbelievably detailed image. Not only does this help you to positively identify animals but also gives you a clear view of the surroundings and background. This highly accurate thermal sensor will also continue to deliver in the most challenging conditions, such as rain and fog.
The 1000m LRF discreetly fits inside the front objective lens which allows you to accurately judge the distance to your target without compromising the traditional look of your rifle. The built-in ballistic calculator displays the holdover point on your reticle, making it possible to accurately adjust for shooting at different distances, even in total darkness.
The new viewfinder screen delivers an immersive experience, with an exceptionally wide field of view. You can customise the display to give you all the information you need in a rounded viewing area that will feel familiar to anyone who has used a traditional optical scope.
In addition to the latest hardware, HIKMICRO are committed to developing advanced software to enhance your hunting experience. The Stellar 3.0 is loaded with new technology like Image Pro 2.0 which uses intelligent algorithms to build extra detail to the image.
Another unique technology which is set to revolutionise your thermal shooting experience is shutterless technology. The shutter is used in traditional thermal devices to control image noise. It is a physical process which requires your image to freeze for a few seconds to complete. During that interruption it is impossible to take your shot. To avoid this problem, HIKMICRO have developed software which has replaced the physical shutter and removed this problem.
Powered by a combination of internal batteries and a removable 18650, the Stellar 3.0 delivers an impressive run time of 9 Hours. The display also shows you the status of the internal battery and the external battery separately so it is easy to manage your power consumption.

HIKMICRO Stellar 3.0 SQ50L (640x512) Thermal Riflescope FAQs
What magnification range does the Stellar 3.0 SQ50L offer?
The scope provides a native magnification range of 6.0× to 24.0×. Zooming is continuous with 1× step increments, allowing precise control over image scaling. This makes it suitable for both medium- and long-range target engagement.
How effective is the thermal sensor in poor weather conditions?
The sub-15mK NETD sensor is designed to detect extremely small temperature differences. This allows the scope to maintain image detail in challenging environments such as rain, fog, or high humidity. Performance remains consistent where lower-sensitivity sensors may struggle.
Does the scope freeze or recalibrate during use?
No, the Stellar SQ50L uses HIKMICRO’s Shutterless Image System (HSIS). This software-based solution eliminates the need for a physical shutter, ensuring uninterrupted viewing. This is particularly beneficial during critical shooting moments.
What is the maximum detection and ranging capability?
The thermal detection range extends up to 2600 metres under optimal conditions. The integrated laser rangefinder can accurately measure distances from 10 metres up to 1000 metres. Measurement accuracy is rated at ±1 metre.
How does the built-in ballistic calculator work?
When paired with the laser rangefinder, the ballistic calculator automatically determines holdover points. These are displayed directly on the reticle, allowing shooters to compensate for distance without manual calculations. This functionality is available even in complete darkness.
What display technology is used in the Stellar 3.0 SQ50L?
The scope features a 1.03-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2560×2560. This high pixel density provides a sharp, immersive image with a wide apparent field of view. Multiple colour palettes are available to suit different viewing preferences.
How long does the battery last during continuous use?
The Stellar 3.0 delivers up to 9 hours of continuous operation. It uses a combination of internal rechargeable batteries and a removable 18650 external battery. Battery status for both power sources is displayed separately on screen.
Is the riflescope suitable for high-recoil calibres?
Yes, the scope is rated for recoil resistance up to 1000g / 0.4ms. This makes it suitable for use on a wide range of hunting rifles. The robust internal construction supports consistent zero retention.
What recording features are built into the scope?
The device supports on-board video recording, snapshot capture, and audio recording. It also includes recoil-activated recording, ensuring key moments are automatically captured. Files are stored on the built-in 64GB internal memory.
How weather-resistant is the Stellar SQ50L?
The scope carries an IP67 protection rating. This means it is fully protected against dust ingress and can withstand temporary immersion in water. It is designed to operate reliably in temperatures from -30°C to 55°C.
