HIKMICRO Thunder 3.0 TH35C (384x288) Thermal Front Clip-On. HIKMICRO THUNDER TH35C 3.0 Thermal Monocular is equipped with an unparalleled powerful thermal detector, with higher sensitivity and the latest image processing algorithm, ensuring users catch the finest details no matter the weather or light conditions. With a 1920 × 1080 OLED larger display, THUNDER 3.0 provides a better visual experience.
The HIKMICRO Thunder 3.0 front clip on enables you to hunt with the latest generation thermal technology while also retaining the experience of shooting with your traditional optical riflescope.
The Thunder 3.0 introduces many innovations to enhance your hunting including shutterless technology.
Built around HIKMICRO’s latest generation 384x266px, Sub 15mK NETD sensors, the Thunder 3.0 is capable of delivering an unbelievably detailed image. Not only does this help you to positively identify animals but also gives you a clear view of the surroundings and background. This highly accurate thermal sensor will also continue to deliver in the most challenging conditions, such as rain and fog.
The Thunder 3.0 utilises a compact and ergonomic chassis which has been developed to ensure that all of the controls fall easily to reach from your shooting position. The thunder is paired to a Rusan Quick-Release clamp system which is tailored to fit your existing optic perfectly. This system allows you to quickly and repeatably add or remove the thermal unit from your optical scope with the twist of a locking ring.
In addition to the latest hardware, HIKMICRO are committed to developing advanced software to enhance your hunting experience. The Thunder 3.0 is loaded with new technology like Image Pro 2.0 which uses intelligent algorithms to build extra detail to the image.
Another unique technology which is set to revolutionise your thermal shooting experience is shutterless technology. The shutter is used in traditional thermal devices to control image noise. It is a physical process which requires your image to freeze for a few seconds to complete. During that interruption it is impossible to take your shot. To avoid this problem, HIKMICRO have developed software which has replaced the physical shutter and removed this problem.
Powered by the same removable battery as the Thunder 2.0, the Thunder 3.0 delivers an impressive run time of 6 Hours.

HIKMICRO Thunder 3.0 TH35C (384x288) Thermal Front Clip-On FAQs
How does the HIKMICRO Thunder 3.0 TH35C work as a front clip-on?
The Thunder 3.0 TH35C mounts in front of an existing daytime riflescope, allowing thermal imaging to be added without removing or re-zeroing the optic. This setup preserves the shooter’s familiar reticle, eye relief, and handling characteristics. It is optimised for use with day scopes between 1× and 12× magnification.
What level of image detail can the 384 × 288 sensor provide?
The 384 × 288 thermal sensor, combined with a 12 μm pixel pitch and sub-15 mK NETD sensitivity, delivers strong detail recognition for its class. This allows users to distinguish animals from background clutter more confidently. The performance remains consistent even in challenging weather conditions.
What is the benefit of the shutterless image system?
Traditional thermal devices periodically freeze the image to recalibrate using a mechanical shutter. The Thunder 3.0’s HSIS shutterless system removes this interruption, maintaining a continuous live image. This ensures that critical moments are not missed when observing or preparing to take a shot.
What detection range can be expected from the 35 mm lens?
The 35 mm F1.0 lens provides a detection range of up to 1800 metres under suitable conditions. This long-range capability supports early target detection and situational awareness. Identification distances will vary depending on target size and environmental factors.
How long does the battery last in normal use?
The Thunder 3.0 is powered by a removable and rechargeable Li-ion battery pack that delivers approximately 6 hours of continuous operation at 25°C. Battery life may vary depending on feature usage such as hotspot tracking and recording. External power can also be supplied via the USB-C port.
Is the HIKMICRO Thunder 3.0 suitable for harsh weather conditions?
With an IP67 protection rating, the unit is fully protected against dust and temporary immersion in water. It is designed to operate reliably in temperatures ranging from -30°C to +55°C. This makes it suitable for demanding outdoor and night hunting environments.
Does the Thunder 3.0 support video and audio recording?
Yes, the device includes on-board video recording, snapshot capture, and audio recording functionality. Files are stored internally on a 64 GB EMMC memory. Recoil-activated recording ensures key moments are automatically captured during firing.
What colour palettes are available on the display?
The Thunder 3.0 offers multiple thermal palettes including Black Hot, White Hot, Red Hot, Fusion Red monochrome, and Green monochrome. These options allow users to tailor the image to their preferences and environmental conditions. Palette choice can influence contrast and detection comfort.
How robust is the Thunder 3.0 under recoil?
The unit is rated to withstand recoil forces of up to 1000 g over 0.4 milliseconds. This high shock resistance makes it compatible with a wide range of hunting calibres. Its internal components and housing are engineered to maintain performance after repeated firing.
Can the Thunder 3.0 be used with different rifles and optics?
Thanks to its quick-release clamp system and clip-on design, the Thunder 3.0 can be transferred between compatible rifles and optics. Repeatable mounting helps maintain consistent alignment when reattaching the unit. Multiple zeroing profiles further support flexible use across setups.
