Definitely not a surf or a beach rod. rocks and heavy pier yes, stiff tip, shrink tubing a foot too short, but ...casts 7oz plus bait easily, comes alive with big bait and cast and 6lb plus fish on it! Used mine for Norway and OTT for most of that too.
