The Leica Monovid 8 x 20 with 8-fold magnification is a true high-end monocular that is designed so you need never be without it . Its elegant design is as impressive as its superior technology making it ideal for birdwatchers and hikers who need to travel light, for concert-goers and sports fans alike.
It's special feature is a close-up lens that allows the detailed observation of objects at distances as close as 25-30 cm which is perfect for viewing butterflies and insects. Simply screwing this accessory onto the front lens lets users experience a macro effect that reveals even the finest details. It is also particularly practical: when not in use, the lens can be safely stored in the leather case provided - the best place to keep it safe and sound. Another ingenious feature of the elegant case is its silent magnetic fastener, which ensures that nothing is surprised or scared away.
But the Monovid offers much, much more. Its aluminum body is nitrogen-filled to prevent misting, and its lenses are coated with water and dirt repellent AquaDuraTM coating. Furthermore, in contrast to all other monoculars, it is not only splash-proof but fully waterproof to a depth of 5m (16.5 ft). Amazing little scope with super sharp image and no noticeable CA. Very bright considering the 20mm objective and the case and build quality of the scope is excellent hasnt left my belt since I got it!I bought it based on other reviews but was not sure Id keep it because of the price however it really is as good as people say. Yes its expensive but to get this quality you have to pay for it even youre even thinking about buying one just do it you wont have any regrets.

Excellent piece of kit which is superbly made. Unfortunately there is no objective lens cap so I have had to buy one from another source that will do the job.The guarantee needs to be revised to reflect the fact that it is not necessary to have it stamped by the dealer. Also when registering on the Leica website they need to take onboard the fact that we in the U.K. Do not have zip codes. There is also no provision for a street.
