Daiwa Bass Rods: Lure, Bait and Travel Options
Daiwa's bass selection includes Legalis Seabass lure rods, longer Seahunter Z and Sandstorm shore rods, and multi-piece Saltist Travel Spin models. The casting ratings show why these are different choices rather than interchangeable bass outfits.
Legalis Seabass: Choose Around Your Lures
- 7ft 6in, 5-21g: the lighter-rated option for smaller lures.
- 8ft, 7-28g: a higher upper casting rating with a modest increase in length.
- 8ft 6in and 9ft, 10-35g: two lengths sharing a casting range, so the choice is primarily about reach and handling.
For weighted soft plastics, include the jig head as well as the lure body when matching the total weight to the rod.
Seahunter Z and Sandstorm: Longer Shore Rods
The Seahunter Z Seabass 11ft 6in and Sandstorm Bass Surf 11ft 6in have stated 1-3oz ratings. They are longer shore fishing designs, distinct from the shorter Legalis lure rods. The Seahunter Z also has an 11ft five-piece version for more compact transport.
Saltist Travel Spin: Different Casting Classes
Saltist Travel Spin models include 14-42g options and a much heavier 80-140g model. The heavier model is intended for substantially larger casting loads than a light bass lure setup. Choose the casting class before the travel format.
