Daiwa Seahunter Z, Sandstorm and Saltist Shore Rods

Seahunter Z: Same Casting Rating, Different Lengths
The Seahunter Z beachcaster range includes 12ft 6in, 13ft 6in and 14ft models with a 4-8oz casting rating.
The 12ft 6in and 13ft 6in models have two sections, while the 14ft has three. Moving to the longer model therefore changes the section layout without increasing the stated casting rating.
Sandstorm: Choose the Reel Version First
The Sandstorm surf range includes separate multiplier and fixed-spool models:
- Multiplier: 12ft 6in, 13ft 6in and 14ft 2in versions.
- Fixed spool: 12ft 6in and 13ft 6in versions.
These two-piece surf rods carry a 100-200g rating and feature Fuji stainless steel K guides. The dedicated reel versions are not interchangeable simply because they share a length and casting range.
Saltist BU Surf: Multiplier or Hybrid-Tip Fixed Spool?
The two-piece multiplier models in the Saltist Surf range are rated at 100-200g and use sliding Fuji DPS reel seats, allowing adjustment of the reel position. Their blanks combine HVF and X45 technologies, with X45 helping resist twisting during casting.
The 14ft Saltist BU Surf HT provides a different fixed-spool configuration: three sections, a hybrid tip, a fixed reel seat and an optimum casting range of 84-150g. It differs from the multiplier models in more than guide layout alone.
Lighter Shore Fishing and Travel
The Seahunter Z Seabass models carry a lighter 1-3oz rating. The 11ft five-piece Seahunter Z Seabass adds a compact transport format, but is not a travel equivalent of the heavier 4-8oz beachcasters.
