Pulsar Telos LRF XT50 Thermal Imager
Product Details
Manufacturer code: PUL-77524 | Our code: 147638
The Pulsar Telos LRF XT50 is a high-resolution thermal imaging monocular for observers who want a broad view for scanning and detailed imagery for closer inspection. Its 1280x1024 sensor, 50mm f1.0 lens and integrated laser rangefinder combine thermal observation and distance measurement in one handheld device.
Why choose the Telos LRF XT50?
The XT50 is particularly worth considering if you prioritise sensor resolution and a wide viewing area over higher starting magnification. Its 2x base magnification and 17.5° field of view let you see more of the surrounding scene before zooming in. Magnification adjusts up to 16x, with Zoom Boost extending digital magnification to 24x.
Electronic image stabilisation helps steady the view during handheld observation. Picture-in-Picture provides a magnified window while keeping the wider scene visible, helping you examine a subject and follow its movement.
Telos LRF XT50 or Telos LRF XL50?
The Pulsar Telos LRF XL50 is the closest alternative to compare. Both models combine a 50mm f1.0 lens with an integrated laser rangefinder, but their viewing characteristics differ:
- Sensor resolution: the XT50 has 1280x1024 pixels, compared with 1024x768 on the XL50.
- Starting magnification and viewing area: the XT50 starts at 2x with a 17.5° field of view; the XL50 starts at 2.5x with a 14° field of view.
- Display: the XT50 uses a 1920x1080 AMOLED display, compared with the XL50’s 1024x768 AMOLED display.
- Recording storage: the XT50 provides 128GB of internal memory, compared with 64GB on the XL50.
Choose the XT50 when the wider starting view, higher sensor resolution and additional recording capacity match your priorities. Consider the XL50 if you prefer a more magnified starting view and its lower-resolution sensor and display meet your requirements. Both have a detection range of up to 2300m, so the XT50’s specification does not represent an increase in that headline distance.
Distance measurement and supported observation
The low-profile laser rangefinder provides distance readings with a stated accuracy of ±1m. Its base incorporates a tripod adaptor for supported observation, removing the need for a separate tripod adaptor.
Detection range and identification distance are different. Detecting a heat source at long range does not mean you will have enough detail to identify it confidently.
Power, protection and recording
The LPS 7i rechargeable battery offers up to eight hours of operation, depending on temperature, with USB-C and wireless charging options. A rubber-coated housing provides grip, and IP67 protection guards against dust and temporary immersion. An ergonomic carrying case is included.
Record still images and video with audio directly to the monocular. Stream Vision 2 connectivity allows compatible Android and iOS devices to download recordings, control settings remotely and update firmware.
