Product Details

Manufacturer code: PUL-76585W     |     Our code: 146684

The Pulsar Trail 3 LRF XQ50 is a compact thermal riflescope combining a 384 × 288 sensor, 50mm f/1.0 lens and integrated laser rangefinder. Its 3.5x starting magnification provides a more magnified initial view, while a Full HD AMOLED display presents the thermal image.

Key features

  • 384 × 288 thermal sensor with adjustable image processing.
  • 50mm f/1.0 objective lens with variable digital magnification.
  • Picture-in-Picture for a magnified inset within the wider scene.
  • Integrated laser rangefinder and supported ballistic app connectivity.
  • Compact monoblock housing with a rail-mounting format.
  • Built-in image and video recording with smartphone connectivity.

Thermal image and field of view

The 384 × 288, 17µm sensor works with a 50mm f/1.0 objective lens. At the 3.5x starting magnification, the horizontal field of view is 7.5°, equivalent to 13.1m at 100m. Digital zoom provides a closer view when you want to inspect an object already located.

The quoted detection range is up to 1,800m. This is a detection figure, not an identification guarantee; usable detail depends on the subject, distance and conditions.

Adjust image processing to the conditions

Sensor NETD is below 25mK, with system NETD below 15mK. Thermal sensitivity helps distinguish small temperature differences between a subject and its surroundings. Sensitivity amplification, brightness and contrast controls let you adjust the image as thermal contrast changes. A smoothing filter provides further adjustment. Choose from 9 thermal colour palettes with supporting current firmware to change the presentation of temperature differences.

Magnification and Picture-in-Picture

Picture-in-Picture displays a magnified inset while retaining the wider scene in the main viewing area. This allows closer examination of an object without filling the entire display with the zoomed view. Magnification can be adjusted through the 3.5–14x range.

Compact housing and viewing controls

The monoblock magnesium alloy housing uses a rail-mounting format. Compatible mounting options include Pulsar Weaver N, SQD and LQD mounts; the mount supplied depends on the ordered configuration. Ambidextrous focusing controls suit either hand, while the proximity sensor can switch off the Full HD AMOLED display when the scope is lowered. IP67 protection covers dust and water ingress.

Integrated laser rangefinder

The built-in laser rangefinder measures up to 1,200m with a stated accuracy of ±1m. Maximum usable range depends on the object and conditions. Stream Vision Ballistics supports work with range measurements and an entered ballistic profile.

Rechargeable power

The removable LPS7i rechargeable battery can be exchanged for a separately purchased spare during longer outings. USB-C supports charging and external power. Actual endurance depends on temperature, recording and wireless use.

Recording and smartphone connectivity

Capture still photographs and video with sound directly to the 64GB internal memory. Stream Vision 2 connects a compatible Android or iOS smartphone or tablet for live viewing, remote control, downloading files and firmware updates. Dual-band Wi-Fi supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections.

Compare with similar models

Trail 3 LRF XQ50 or Trail 3 LRF XR50?

Compare the Pulsar Trail 3 LRF XR50. The XR50 offers a 640 × 480 sensor, lower 3x starting magnification and wider 8.8° view. The XQ50 starts at 3.5x with a 7.5° view and has a lower published system NETD. Both include 1,200m laser ranging.

Trail 3 LRF XQ50 or Thermion 2 LRF XQ50 Pro?

Compare the Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XQ50 Pro. The Thermion uses a conventional 30mm tube and 3x starting magnification, with 800m laser ranging. Trail 3 uses a compact rail-mounting format and a 1,200m rangefinder.
