Product Details

Manufacturer code: PUL-77523     |     Our code: 146393

The Pulsar Wildlife Ventex XT50 thermal imaging binoculars combine a 1280 × 1024 thermal sensor with image stabilisation for detailed handheld observation. An integrated laser rangefinder adds direct distance measurements, while two-eyepiece viewing provides a familiar position for extended observation.

Key features

  • Two-eyepiece thermal viewing in a familiar binocular format.
  • Electronic image stabilisation for handheld observation.
  • Integrated laser rangefinder for direct distance measurement.
  • Built-in battery plus a replaceable rechargeable battery.
  • Adjustable thermal image settings and selectable colour palettes.
  • Photo and video recording with Wild Vision smartphone connectivity.

Thermal image and field of view

The 1280 × 1024, 12µm sensor works with a 50mm f/1.0 objective lens. At the 2x starting magnification, the horizontal field of view is 17.5°, equivalent to 30.7m at 100m. Digital zoom provides a closer view when you want to inspect an object already located.

The quoted detection range is up to 2,300m. This is a detection figure, not an identification guarantee; usable detail depends on the subject, distance and conditions.

Adjust image processing to the conditions

Sensor NETD is below 40mK, with system NETD below 20mK. Thermal sensitivity helps distinguish small temperature differences between a subject and its surroundings. Sensitivity amplification, brightness and contrast controls let you adjust the image as thermal contrast changes. Choose from 9 thermal colour palettes with supporting current firmware to change the presentation of temperature differences.

Magnification and Picture-in-Picture

Picture-in-Picture displays a magnified inset while retaining the wider scene in the main viewing area. This allows closer examination of an object without filling the entire display with the zoomed view. Magnification can be adjusted through the 2–16x range.

Two-eyepiece viewing and practical controls

The familiar binocular form provides two-eyepiece viewing, with adjustable eyepiece spacing and dioptre correction for setting up the image to suit your eyes. A proximity sensor can switch the displays off when the binoculars are moved away from your face. Electronic image stabilisation helps reduce visible movement during handheld observation. The magnesium alloy body has IPX7 waterproof protection.

Integrated laser rangefinder

The built-in laser rangefinder measures up to 1,500m with a stated accuracy of ±1m. Maximum usable range depends on the object and conditions. Direct ranging adds distance information alongside the thermal image.

Rechargeable power

The dual-battery system combines an internal rechargeable battery with a removable APS3 pack. A separately purchased spare can replace a depleted external pack during longer outings. Actual endurance depends on temperature, recording and wireless use.

Recording and smartphone connectivity

Capture still photographs and video with sound directly to the 64GB internal memory. Wild Vision connects a compatible Android or iOS smartphone or tablet for live viewing, remote control, downloading files and firmware updates. Dual-band Wi-Fi supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections.

Compare with similar models

Wildlife Ventex XT50 or Ventex XP35?

Compare the Pulsar Ventex XP35. The XP35 is smaller, with a 640 × 480 sensor, 17.8° field of view and 1,000m rangefinder. The XT50 prioritises sensor resolution, image stabilisation and longer-range laser measurement.

Wildlife Ventex XT50 or Avilume XT50 Pro?

Compare the Pulsar Avilume XT50 Pro. Avilume combines thermal imaging with a separate digital channel for colour daytime viewing and infrared-assisted night vision. Ventex remains a thermal-only binocular.
