Product Details

Manufacturer code: PUL-77504     |     Our code: 144897

The Pulsar Oryx LRF XG35 thermal imaging monocular combines one-handed focusing, electronic image stabilisation and an integrated laser rangefinder. Its focus wheel sits close to the eyepiece, allowing you to adjust the image without moving your supporting hand, while the dual-battery system supports extended observation.

Key features

  • Focus wheel near the eyepiece for one-handed adjustment.
  • Electronic image stabilisation for handheld observation.
  • Integrated precision laser rangefinder.
  • Internal battery and removable APS5 pack for extended use.
  • Symmetrical housing and adjustable hand strap for left- or right-handed operation.
  • Built-in recording with audio and Stream Vision 2 connectivity.

Thermal image and field of view

The 640 × 480, 12µm sensor works with a 35mm f/1.0 objective lens. At the 2.5x starting magnification, the horizontal field of view is 12.5°, equivalent to 21.9m at 100m. Digital zoom provides a closer view when you want to inspect an object already located.

The quoted detection range is up to 1,800m. This is a detection figure, not an identification guarantee; usable detail depends on the subject, distance and conditions.

Adjust image processing to the conditions

Sensor NETD is below 40mK, with system NETD below 20mK. Thermal sensitivity helps distinguish small temperature differences between a subject and its surroundings. Sensitivity amplification, brightness and contrast controls let you adjust the image as thermal contrast changes. A smoothing filter provides further adjustment. Choose from 9 thermal colour palettes with supporting current firmware to change the presentation of temperature differences.

Magnification and Picture-in-Picture

Picture-in-Picture displays a magnified inset while retaining the wider scene in the main viewing area. This allows closer examination of an object without filling the entire display with the zoomed view. Magnification can be adjusted through the 2.5–20x range.

One-handed focus and image stabilisation

A focus wheel near the eyepiece keeps focusing within reach of the supporting hand. The symmetrical body and ambidextrous strap arrangement accommodate left- and right-handed use, while vibration feedback confirms button presses. Electronic image stabilisation helps reduce visible handheld shake, particularly when magnification is increased.

Integrated laser rangefinder

The built-in laser rangefinder measures up to 1,500m with a stated accuracy of ±1m. Maximum usable range depends on the object and conditions. Direct ranging adds distance information alongside the thermal image.

Rechargeable power

An internal rechargeable battery works alongside a removable APS5 pack. The quoted endurance of up to 12 hours at 22°C is for the combined system. Both battery charge levels are displayed, and USB-C supports charging and external power.

Recording and smartphone connectivity

Capture still photographs and video with sound directly to the 64GB internal memory. Stream Vision 2 connects a compatible Android or iOS smartphone or tablet for live viewing, remote control, downloading files and firmware updates. Dual-band Wi-Fi supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections.

Compare with similar models

Oryx LRF XG35 or Axion Compact XG35?

Compare the Pulsar Axion Compact XG35. Both use 640 × 480 sensors and 35mm f/1.0 lenses. The Oryx adds direct laser ranging, electronic stabilisation and a dual-battery system, while the Axion retains a smaller pocket-sized format.

Oryx LRF XG35 or Telos LRF XQ35?

Compare the Pulsar Telos LRF XQ35. The Telos combines a 384 × 288 sensor, 3x starting magnification and 1,000m rangefinder. The Oryx provides a 640 × 480 sensor, 2.5x starting view and 1,500m rangefinder, with its own one-handed focusing arrangement.
