Pulsar Axion Compact XG35 Thermal Imager
Product Details
Manufacturer code: PUL-77509 | Our code: 144053
The Pulsar Axion Compact XG35 thermal imaging monocular combines a 640 × 480 sensor with a 35mm f/1.0 lens and a 2.5x starting magnification. It suits handheld observation across open ground where a more magnified initial view is useful, while retaining a compact format for carrying between observation points.
Key features
- 640 × 480 thermal sensor with adjustable image processing.
- Variable magnification and Picture-in-Picture viewing.
- Compact housing for carrying between observation points.
- Selectable colour palettes and viewing adjustments.
- Removable APS3 rechargeable battery.
- Built-in recording and Stream Vision 2 smartphone connectivity.
Thermal image and field of view
The 640 × 480, 12µm sensor works with a 35mm f/1.0 objective lens. At the 2.5x starting magnification, the horizontal field of view is 12.5°, equivalent to 21.9m at 100m. Digital zoom provides a closer view when you want to inspect an object already located.
The quoted detection range is up to 1,750m. This is a detection figure, not an identification guarantee; usable detail depends on the subject, distance and conditions.
Adjust image processing to the conditions
Sensor NETD is below 40mK, with system NETD below 20mK. Thermal sensitivity helps distinguish small temperature differences between a subject and its surroundings. Sensitivity amplification, brightness and contrast controls let you adjust the image as thermal contrast changes. A smoothing filter provides further adjustment. Choose from 9 thermal colour palettes with supporting current firmware to change the presentation of temperature differences.
Magnification and Picture-in-Picture
Picture-in-Picture displays a magnified inset while retaining the wider scene in the main viewing area. This allows closer examination of an object without filling the entire display with the zoomed view. Magnification can be adjusted through the 2.5–20x range.
Compact handling and weather protection
The compact magnesium alloy housing is designed for carrying between observation points. Separate objective and eyepiece focusing controls let you adjust the scene and display to your eyes. IPX7 waterproof protection supports use in wet weather, while a mounting connection provides an option for supported observation.
Stadiametric distance estimation
The stadiametric rangefinder estimates distance by comparing an object’s apparent size with a known reference height. Adjust the on-screen markers around the subject to obtain an approximate distance, using the appropriate reference object.
Rechargeable power
The removable APS3 rechargeable battery can be exchanged for a separately purchased spare during longer outings. Quoted endurance is up to seven hours at 22°C. USB-C supports charging and external power. Actual endurance depends on temperature, recording and wireless use.
Recording and smartphone connectivity
Capture still photographs and video with sound directly to the 64GB internal memory. Stream Vision 2 connects a compatible Android or iOS smartphone or tablet for live viewing, remote control, downloading files and firmware updates. Dual-band Wi-Fi supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections.
Compare with similar models
Axion Compact XG35 or Axion Compact XG30?
Compare the Pulsar Axion Compact XG30. The XG30 starts at 2x with a wider 14.6° view and a quoted 1,300m detection range. The XG35 starts at 2.5x with a 12.5° view and 1,750m detection figure. Choose the XG30 for a broader initial view, or the XG35 when a more magnified starting view is useful.
Axion Compact XG35 or Oryx LRF XG35?
Compare the Pulsar Oryx LRF XG35. The Oryx adds an integrated 1,500m laser rangefinder, image stabilisation and a focus wheel near the eyepiece. It is a different option when direct ranging and one-handed focus matter more than the smallest carrying format.
