Product Details

Manufacturer code: PUL-76557     |     Our code: 141996

The Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XL50 thermal riflescope combines a large-format 1024 × 768 sensor with a low 1.75x starting magnification. Its 14° horizontal field of view suits searching mixed ground and following movement, with a built-in laser rangefinder and standard 30mm mounting format.

Key features

  • 1024 × 768 thermal sensor with adjustable image processing.
  • 50mm f/1.0 objective lens with variable digital magnification.
  • Picture-in-Picture for a magnified inset within the wider scene.
  • Integrated laser rangefinder and supported ballistic app connectivity.
  • Standard 30mm ring mounting.
  • Built-in image and video recording with smartphone connectivity.

Thermal image and field of view

The 1024 × 768, 12µm sensor works with a 50mm f/1.0 objective lens. At the 1.75x starting magnification, the horizontal field of view is 14°, equivalent to 24.6m at 100m. Digital zoom provides a closer view when you want to inspect an object already located.

The quoted detection range is up to 2,300m. This is a detection figure, not an identification guarantee; usable detail depends on the subject, distance and conditions.

Adjust image processing to the conditions

Sensor NETD is below 35mK, with system NETD below 20mK. Thermal sensitivity helps distinguish small temperature differences between a subject and its surroundings. Sensitivity amplification, brightness and contrast controls let you adjust the image as thermal contrast changes. A smoothing filter provides further adjustment. Choose from 9 thermal colour palettes with supporting current firmware to change the presentation of temperature differences.

Magnification and Picture-in-Picture

Picture-in-Picture displays a magnified inset while retaining the wider scene in the main viewing area. This allows closer examination of an object without filling the entire display with the zoomed view. Magnification can be adjusted through the 1.75–14x range.

Mounting, reticles and stored settings

The 30mm tube is designed for suitable standard scope rings. Selectable electronic reticles, stored zeroing profiles and adjustable image settings provide control over the display for different setups. Picture-in-Picture retains the surrounding scene during closer examination. The metal housing has IPX7 waterproof protection and a published maximum recoil rating of 6,000J.

Integrated laser rangefinder

The built-in laser rangefinder measures up to 800m with a stated accuracy of ±1m. Maximum usable range depends on the object and conditions. Stream Vision Ballistics supports work with range measurements and an entered ballistic profile.

Rechargeable power

An internal rechargeable battery works alongside a removable APS2 pack. The external pack can be replaced during longer sessions, and USB-C supports external power. Actual endurance depends on the battery configuration, temperature and use of digital features.

Recording and smartphone connectivity

Capture still photographs and video with sound directly to the 64GB internal memory. Stream Vision 2 connects a compatible Android or iOS smartphone or tablet for live viewing, remote control, downloading files and firmware updates. Dual-band Wi-Fi supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections.

Compare with similar models

Thermion 2 LRF XL50 or Thermion 2 LRF XG50?

Compare the Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG50. The XG50 provides a more magnified 3x starting view with an 8.8° field of view. The XL50 prioritises a larger sensor, lower 1.75x starting magnification and wider 14° view. Both have 800m laser ranging.

Thermion 2 LRF XL50 or Thermion 2 LRF XL60?

Compare the Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XL60. The XL60 uses a larger 60mm lens, 2.5x starting magnification and 65mm eye relief with a Micro-OLED display. The XL50 offers a wider 14° starting view from its 50mm lens and 1.75x base magnification.
