Snowbee Spectre Cassette Fly Reel #5/6 With 3 Spare Spools And Reel Bag. The popular #5/6 & #7/8 models are now available in a cassette spool version. Built to the same exacting standards as the current reels, but fitted with a precision moulded, polycarbonate cassette spool. Giving the same line capacity as the standard model, this offers the advantage of quick-change, inexpensive and lightweight cassette spools, so favoured by competition fishermen. Purpose-designed so it will ‘retro-fit’ existing Spectre reels.
The new Spectre range is an ultra-lightweight, precision CNC machined aluminium reel at an amazing price! Machined from high grade, aircraft aluminium bar stock, the unique design removes the maximum amount of metal, whilst retaining optimum strength and rigidity, for an ultra-light weight and better rod/reel balance.
The multi-disc cork and stainless steel centre drag, offers superb performance, with minimal start-up inertia, while the large arbor design allows faster retrieve, more consistent drag performance and minimal line memory.
The stainless steel main spindle coupled with the one-way roller clutch bearing, provides instant drag control, when that ‘smash take’ catches you by surprise. Extra hard paint finish for salt-water and chip resistance, quick release spool and easy left to right hand conversion, makes the ‘Stealth’ the perfect choice, for long, untroubled fishing use.
The extended range covers all requirements from the smallest brook fishing up to salmon, sea-trout and saltwater. Complete with a neoprene reel case, this range offers unmatched performance coupled with value for money.

Good well made reel. I had read people struggled to change the cassettes but to be honest It was fairly simple. You just have to line up the locating lugs.Great drag system and again really well constructed.

It would have been 5 stars only the fact when the kit arrived I couldnt work out how the spool came off the reel holder. There was no instructions in box or a video on Snowbees website. In the end I had to call Snowbee directly to find out. The guy there was very helpful and told me how to do it. I pointed out to him that there was no instructions which he confirmed and he said its a common question and someone only a few hours earlier asked the same question. I suggested maybe a instruction leaflet in reel case was be useful. He said they would look into it remains to be seen!!

Not used it fishing yet but appears high quality. Light and attractive. No play between spool and cage. No info how to change spools and tight but overall seems a very good reel.

The reel looks stunning and refined. Smooth drag and spools can be switched smoothly and quickly (press thumbs in center of spool!). Perfect size for me: a compact reel for my 6 rod and even light enough to put on my aftma 4 rod. Very pleased with it!

If you want a very light cassette reel for WF lines in the 5/6/7 weight range this reel is the perfect choice. Although its not a budget reel it is far far better in my opinion that may reels costing far more. Engineering is first class and its super smooth. Some folks say the cassettes can be difficult to remove thats true if you just try to pull them off as this causes the spool to grip the o ring. However if you place your thumbs on the inner hub of the reel and grip the spool edge with all your finger tips light pressure will slide the cassette from the hub.Many cassette reels are heavy far too heavy in my view for modern carbon rods however this reel is so light at at £8 a spool youre not going to break the bank if you want to carry lots of line. Although the reel is rated 5/6 I think the Oynx using the same spools is rated 5/6/7 I can get a WF7 Kelly green plus 80 yards of backing on. As long as you are using WF lines I think you can consider this as suitable for 7 weight however the reel will not t...

Another quality engineered reel from Snowbee with the benefit of utilising plastic cassettes. Lightweight but with a very smooth drag. Perfect match for my Orvis recon 6. Excellent price from Uttings.
