Sharpe's Spey Wading Staff with Lanyard. Sharpe's of Aberdeen have been making dependable and reliable wading staffs for many, many years. The heavy weighted wading staff (overall weigh 2lbs 6 ozs) is designed for use in faster waters. 54" long, the staff is covered by robust PVC sleeving and has a reinforced rubber foot and supplied with a releasable lanyard that is clipped to the staff (a safety feature). The final feature is that it is has a "length to weight" conversion chart to help you access the weight of your fish, which has the added benefit of depth measurement.

The Wading Staff is a raffle prize so I have not used it but from the weight and robust nature of manufacture it would appear to be all that is required of a quality wading staff and more being suitably heavy robust and having a wide foot with grips and I am sure whoever wins this prize will be more that happy

Is what it says on the tin. At least it will be where I want it in an emergency on the river bed ie.down and useful vs collapsible wading sticks which are light and float !
