Shimano Feeder/Match/Float Rods

Explore Shimano feeder, float and match rods from the Aero collection. The selection includes shorter Finesse feeder rods, higher-rated Precision models, commercial float rods and longer three-piece match rods.

Aero X7A Finesse or Precision?

The Aero X7A Finesse Feeder 9ft 50g is designed for shorter-range fishing with a softer playing action. Its compact length makes it a different handling option from longer feeder rods.

The Precision models provide higher casting ratings:

• Aero X7A Precision Feeder 10ft 70g: a shorter Precision option with a higher casting rating than the 9ft Finesse.
• Aero X7A Precision Feeder 11ft 80g: additional length and casting capacity within the Precision range.

Aero X7 and X7A Are Different Models

The earlier Aero X7 Precision Feeder 11ft 60g differs from the X7A Precision 11ft 80g. Although both are 11ft Precision feeder rods, their casting ratings are not interchangeable. The full model name and code identify the version.

Aero X6 Float Rods: Commercial and Longer Match Options

The Aero X6 Match Float range includes 10ft, 11ft and 12ft models for commercial fishing, alongside longer 13ft and 14ft rods.

The 11ft 12g Aero X6 Match Float uses a two-piece construction. The 13ft and 14ft models have three sections and provide more reach for managing line and guiding a float through a river swim.

Aero X5 Pellet Waggler

The Aero X5 Pellet Waggler 11ft 15g is a dedicated pellet waggler design. It shares its length with the 11ft Aero X6 Match Float but carries a different casting rating, so length alone does not identify an equivalent float setup.

Replacement Tips and Sections

Some Shimano listings are replacement quiver tips or rod sections. Match these to the exact rod model and generation. A tip's ounce rating describes stiffness, not the complete rod's casting capacity.
