The best thing to say about this case is that it is stackable. The flat sides make it easy to store, but are also quite soft.
More worrying is what happens to the contents when the case is stood on end. A tin of pellets or a pistol placed near the closure hinges will migrate down through the foam, so things tend to bunch together. Given that one crucial purpose of a case is to prevent damage, this really is a problem. The foam just isn't thick enough to hold heavy things in place.
The smaller Flambeau case doesn't seem to suffer from content migration, but still feels insubstantial.
