Just bought a pair of Countrymaster GTX shoes to replace the pair I bought in 2004. The thing is, my original pair are still in very good shape indeed, and I've used them in the field, up hills, down dales and in a restaurant or two. The soles are a bit worn and I have a squeak or two but the leather polishes up beautifully and the gore tex lining is still intact.
Not bad for 7 years of constant abuse. Very comfortable, waterproof, smart shoes. Too good for the field, wear them anywhere !

Absolutely superb shoes. I'm on my third pair now over the last ten or so years and I really cannot fault them. Extremely comfortable - great for long days pounding the streets of London but equally good for walking cross-country. I've never detected any water on the inside of them, however wet the conditions, and they also look very smart for meetings etc. I can't praise them enough and I will be buying my fourth pair shortly.
